This was Alexander McQueen’s first stand-alone UK Store, and the key challenge was to create a high quality engaging retail space with the appearance of permanence but that could in fact be changed each season. The space also had to be created within the constraints of a Georgian Grade II listed building in Central London.
Eckersley O’Callaghan installed a steel framework that runs through the shop. Attached to the steel is a moveable steel-framed hanging system, allowing the shop to be spatially re-configured to meet the requirements of the designer.
