Apple store facade design building on newly-developed fabrication techniques to create a curved glass storefront 45 metres wide.
In a prime corner location on Wanfujing Street in Beijing, this Apple store has an 8.5-metre-tall curved facade running the full 45 metre width of the store front.
The curved insulated glass was manufactured using the techniques pioneered on the Apple IFC Shanghai store. Laminated glass fins restrain the facade panels with a structural silicone joint.
At the centre of the store is a double-height helical staircase manufactured from curved chemically tempered glass.
