New-build research facility for the Physics Department with bronze shading fins and large-format glazed punch windows
University of Oxford
A new research building housing laboratories, lecture theatres and offices, the Beecroft Building for the Theoretical and Experimental Physics Department is due to be completed in early 2016. The facade is designed as a bespoke unitised curtain wall system with triple glazing and external shading fins clad in patinated bronze.
The facade has operable glazing for mixed-mode ventilation, part of an environmental strategy leading to BREEAM Excellent.
