Two glass display cases cantilever 8 feet off the wall of the gallery by mobilsing the stiffness of glass spines and flanges, together with innovative nylon cammed bearings.

This central London gallery was reworked with the goal of providing a free-flowing exhibition space for its resident craft workers and jewellers.
The brief was dramatically met by cantilevering two glass display cases 2.4m off the wall.
The cases were structured as glass I-section beams with glass stiffening fins forming display compartments and door hinging points. Counter-rotating cammed bearings support the glass to a steel end plate. The whole prefabricated assembly was then lifted onto a pre-fixed back-plate to attach it to the wall of the gallery.
