Old Bond Street, London
Wells Mackereth Architects
31 Old Bond Street
An ornate six storey Edwardian building was carefully restored to create the first retail store of the world’s largest privately owned diamond manufacturer. One in three of the world’s diamonds are handled by Leviev.
The work included replacement floors and stairs, a new lift, new strong rooms together with a strengthened bronze front facade.
New display cases and decorative elements were integrated into the building as bespoke, domestic furniture, creating the atmosphere of a luxurious Mayfair townhouse.
