Live work units created by constructing new lightweight structures on the masonry walls of a derelict building.
Birds Portchmouth Russum and Supersession
Two new live work units were created on the Victorian shells of former market storage buildings in a narrow mews street in London’s East End.
The buildings were constructed on a low budget as self build projects for the two families acting as Clients.
A new lightweight steel and timber structure was built onto the existing re-configured masonry base to form two stories of living accommodation with a double height top-lit space and roof terrace. Work spaces are on the ground floor.
