New intervention in the historic London hedquarters of the RIBA
Portland Place, London
Royal Institute of British Architects
A new cafe was created on the ground floor of the RIBA’s Portland Place headquarters.
Lightweight screens of steel mesh, polycarbonate and painted timber are hung on sliding tracks around the room. Their varying degrees of solidity and translucency are used to change the character of the cafe at different times of the day and night.
