Gregor Horstmeyer

Gregor leads the structural projects in Eckersley O’Callaghan San Francisco. He joined the practice in 2011 as a Project Engineer based in our New York office before moving joining our San Francisco team in 2016 following his promotion to a Senior Engineer.

Gregor has a particular interest in performance based seismic designs, his experience ranges from CFRP and glass structures for Apple, Google retail stores, and high end residential buildings to complex bespoke staircases. He grew up working in a glass blowing studio which drove his interest in exploring glass as a structural material. Gregor has released publications on Glass hypar shells and structural glass shells.

A enthusiast of sustainability design, Gregor was previously a researcher to the Siebel Grand Challenges Initiative to assist the California Government on policy regarding climate change.

He is experienced in BIM modeling with REVIT and Rhino, as well as finite element work using Strand7 and MEPLA.
