St\u00e9phany joined the London office in 2014 to work in the Facade Group, before moving to the Paris office in 2017. At Eckersley O\u2019Callaghan she has contributed to the development of sustainability tools and studies, and she has deepened strategies regarding low carbon solutions, circular economy, bio-based materials and resilience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text16px\">In her new role, St\u00e9phany will work closely with structures, facades and glass experts across Eckersley O\u2019Callaghan\u2019s 10 offices around the globe to consolidate and build upon the company\u2019s pioneering work in sustainable design.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text16px\">James O\u2019Callaghan, Founding Director<\/p>\n<p class=\"text16px\">\u201cEfficient engineering design is embedded in the values of Eckersley O\u2019Callaghan, and we believe this is fundamental to sustainable construction. We recognise the need to build on this approach in tackling climate change by using more sophisticated tracking tools, promoting sustainable materials, and driving circularity and re-use in our workflow. Our projects, such as La Reference, a school in Haiti, have already been recognised as leading sustainable design and construction through the Institution of Structural Engineers Awards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text16px\">St\u00e9phany\u2019s appointment as Eckersley O\u2019Callaghan\u2019s Global Sustainability Lead will further contribute to this work as we continue to collaborate with our clients, fellow professionals and research institutions to address sustainability issues, driving down carbon within the construction sector.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text16px\">St\u00e9phany Le Rhun, Global Sustainability Lead<\/p>\n<p class=\"text16px\">\u201cHaving worked at Eckersley O\u2019Callaghan for seven years, I have been able to recognise the strong determination of the practice to tackle the urgent challenges of climate change. We are aware of the great difficulties we need to overcome, and the huge changes we need to make, and we are determined to tackle these issues and have a meaningful impact on the industry. Our role as engineers has become far more complex as we look to integrate a systemic approach to the climate crisis.
