{"id":21640,"date":"2023-07-28T08:55:49","date_gmt":"2023-07-28T08:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/?p=21640"},"modified":"2023-08-03T12:59:02","modified_gmt":"2023-08-03T12:59:02","slug":"nla-circular-london-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/fr\/nla-circular-london-report\/","title":{"rendered":"NLA Circular London Report"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Fantastic to see our project contributions in the newly published <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/nla.london\/\" target=\"_blank\">NLA<\/a><\/strong> Circular Economy report &#8216;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/nla.london\/insights\/circular-london-building-a-renewable-city?utm_source=Media+Pack&amp;utm_medium=Contributors\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Circular London: Building a Renewable City<\/strong><\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-normal.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21641\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-normal.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-normal-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-normal-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><br>We&#8217;re proud to be supporting the publication that provides an excellent overview of the latest circular economy initiatives in the construction industry, discusses limitations to implement such design strategies on a wider scale and suggests specific steps that can implemented on our journey towards NetZero. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Our first featured project, <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/projects\/london-south-bank-university-416\/\" target=\"_blank\">LSBU Hub<\/a><\/strong> with<strong> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wilkinsoneyre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">WilkisonEyre<\/a> <\/strong>and <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bdp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">BDP<\/a><\/strong>, is a showcase of the concepts that we strive to apply to each building: build nothing, build less, build clever, build efficient, minimise waste and build low carbon. By refurbishing and saving as much of the existing materials as possible, the A1-A3 (cradle to gate) embodied carbon component related to the building&#8217;s substructure and superstructure elements is just 49 kgCO2e\/m2. Breathing new life into the existing structure, the scheme is a prime example of a sustainable transformation that economically delivers a like-new building to the Client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/LSBU-3-1024x722.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21653\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/LSBU-3-1024x722.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/LSBU-3-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/LSBU-3-768x541.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/LSBU-3.jpg 1234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><br>Our second featured project,<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/projects\/unesco-430\/\" target=\"_blank\"> UNESCO\u2019s Building V<\/a><\/strong> with<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patriarche.fr\/en\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.patriarche.fr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Patriarche<\/a><\/strong>, is being transformed after 55 years of operation, maintaining the building\u2019s architectural heritage and reusing its existing facade. Piloting a pioneering approach to recycling flat glass, the existing glass panels will be removed, transported to a recycling factory, and remanufactured into internal glass partitions. Prefabrication in the workshop, an innovative block curtain wall system, and a facade kit of parts approach supports the reuse process\u2014resulting in a reduction of 500 tCO2eq and saving 113 tonnes of existing glazing (equivalent to 34 tCO2eq).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/UNESCO-LinkedIn-1024x722.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21655\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/UNESCO-LinkedIn-1024x722.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/UNESCO-LinkedIn-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/UNESCO-LinkedIn-768x541.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/UNESCO-LinkedIn.jpg 1234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><br>We are fully on board with the circular economy principles and ambitions for the near future outlined in the report.
