{"id":29840,"date":"2026-07-20T14:56:57","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T14:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/?p=29840"},"modified":"2026-07-20T14:56:59","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T14:56:59","slug":"sfe-awards-2026-shortlist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/fr\/sfe-awards-2026-shortlist\/","title":{"rendered":"SFE Awards 2026 Shortlist"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Four of our projects have been shortlisted in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cibse.org\/events\/cibse-awards\/sfe-facade-design-and-engineering-awards\/2026-shortlist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Society of Fa\u00e7ade Engineering (SFE) Facade Design and Engineering Awards 2026<\/strong><\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Recognised in the \u2018Project of the Year | Refurbishment Retrofit\u2019 category, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/projects\/76-southbank\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>76 Southbank<\/strong><\/a> adopted a disassembly-led approach to retain the building\u2019s original materials for the precast elements. This included each balustrade being extracted with a 400mm slide of the terrace slab and transported to an off-site yard, where controlled cutting sequences allowed the visible faces to be preserved. The original corbels and shear links were then carefully adapted into new bracketry, compatible with the extended slab and the building\u2019s updated structural strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/cdn-cgi\/image\/format=avif\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/250514_76UG-011-PS_8-tile-1024x722.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29841\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/250514_76UG-011-PS_8-tile-1024x722.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/250514_76UG-011-PS_8-tile-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/250514_76UG-011-PS_8-tile-768x541.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/250514_76UG-011-PS_8-tile.jpg 1234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Backstage at The Old Vic, shortlisted in \u2018Project of the Year | Little Gems\u2019 category, is a new-build, six-storey extension to the Grade II* listed Old Vic Theatre in London\u2019s Waterloo and marks a bold new chapter in the theatre\u2019s remarkable 200-year story. The outward-facing elevation announces the building\u2019s approach to sustainability through the reuse of locally sourced redundant theatre barn door lights, creating a colourful and playful brise soleil held off the main facade in front of fixed curtain wall glazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/cdn-cgi\/image\/format=avif\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_4459_8-tile-1024x722.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29843\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_4459_8-tile-1024x722.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_4459_8-tile-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_4459_8-tile-768x541.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_4459_8-tile.jpg 1234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Situated in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/projects\/unesco-430\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>UNESCO Headquarters<\/strong><\/a> has been shortlisted in the \u2018Project of the Year | Refurbishment Heritage\u2019 category. Central to the project was the refurbishment of Jean Prouv\u00e9\u2019s facade system, comprised of 848 modular facade units which were identified for retention, repair, replacement or reintegration through a \u2018kit-of-parts\u2019 methodology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/cdn-cgi\/image\/format=avif\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/unesco-large3-1024x722.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29845\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/unesco-large3-1024x722.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/unesco-large3-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/unesco-large3-768x541.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/unesco-large3.jpg 1234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><br>In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/projects\/angel-square\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Angel Square<\/strong><\/a> has been shortlisted for \u2018Project of the Year | Commercial\u2019.
