Honouring the building&#8217;s rich past, the <a href=\"https:\/\/trentparkhouse.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Trent Park House of Secrets Museum<\/strong><\/a> opened earlier this month whilst the final touches are being made to the apartments above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/cdn-cgi\/image\/format=avif\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_6861-1024x722.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29905\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_6861-1024x722.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_6861-300x212.png 300w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_6861-768x542.png 768w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_6861-1536x1083.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_6861-2048x1444.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Appointed to deliver civil and structural design on the project in 2021, EOC worked on the sensitive restoration of the mansion house and the additional storey extension roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Most recently used as a university campus teaching facility, much of the building\u2019s historic fabric had been covered with unwanted modern finishes, hiding a wealth of intricate detail which has been painstakingly uncovered, restored and carefully repaired during the construction phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1804\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8617-scaled.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29907\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8617-scaled.png 2560w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8617-300x211.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The refurbishment works included a new lift shaft has been threaded through the central corridor, providing suitable access to the upper floor apartments and an additional floor comprised of setback mansard roof has been added. The vertical extension retained all the historic attic steelwork, validated for the additional loading, alongside some areas which needed strengthening to achieve the new massing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/cdn-cgi\/image\/format=avif\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8648-1024x722.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29909\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8648-1024x722.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8648-300x211.png 300w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8648-768x541.png 768w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8648-1536x1083.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.eocengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8648-2048x1444.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Some underpinning was required in the basement along loadbearing masonry walls to achieve new lift shafts, as well as progressing additional buried services and drainage runs.
