21 November 2025
Eckersley O’Callaghan joined the global architecture community at the 2025 World Architecture Festival last week in Miami.
As chair of the judging panel for the Special Prize for Best Use of Timber, Brian Eckersley presented the award during the Gala Dinner, celebrating the Quinta de Adorigo Winery by Atelier Sergio Rebelo for their innovative and impactful use of wood.

James O’Callaghan chaired the judging panels for ‘Future Projects – Infrastructure’ and ‘Future Projects – Sport’, helping to recognise transformative projects that shape the future of our built environment.

Lisa Rammig was a deserved recipient of the ’40 Under 40 North America’ prize and was featured in a special exhibition to celebrate this prestigious achievement.

As an added bonus, 1265 Borregas in Sunnyvale California by Michael Green Architecture received the Sustainability Special Prize on stage at WAF. This commercial development was Google’s first mass timber office building. We were facade consultants for the project which was the first closed cavity facade system installed in North America, with timber shading blinds integrated into the cavity.
