Schuco Excellence Awards 2025

16 July 2025

Eckersley O’Callaghan is thrilled to announce two award wins at this year’s Schuco Excellence Awards. The two projects, for which we provided facade engineering, are in collaboration with architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris.

76 Upper Ground, London
The landmark 1980s brutalist building by renowned architect Denys Lasdun underwent a quiet transformation and expansion, creating modern office space for Wolfe Property. EOC provided facade engineering works which included replacing all the existing ribbon windows, replacing the ground level defensive facades with new inviting lobby and shop front glazing, two substantial roof lights, a ‘beacon’ plant room enclosure, and new precast panels to the new floors. The project has been awarded ‘Major Project Winner‘ & ‘Overall Winner’, recognised for its environmental ambition, understated architectural response, and overall aesthetic success of the refurbished facades.

Project Team: Florence Li, Javier Montemayor & Kevin Yin.

Town Hall, London Borough of Tower Hamlets
The former Royal London Hospital buildings have been converted and extended to create the new headquarters for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, which has been awarded ‘Health, Culture and Leisure’ winner at the Schuco Excellence Awards 2025 for its sustainability-led detailing. EOC provided facade design review and performance specification services on this Grade II listed building, which incorporated a new full height glazed shopfront with an integrated sliding door.
