Facade design of a new residential and retail building, Floral Court located in Covent Garden. Steel-framed windows and brick-faced precast cladding give a refined crisp appearance.
Eckersley O’Callaghan provided facade engineering services for Floral Court, the King’s Court development has seen 45 luxury residential apartments built around a new public courtyard between Floral and King Streets near Covent Garden.
We designed facades of handmade brick and steel-framed windows which were inspired by the surrounding warehouse The facades are principally constructed of brick-faced precast concrete, while the glazed residential facades use slender steel profiles and the ground floor retail units feature bronze-framed glazing.
The prominent corner bay on Floral St appears as a set of offset stacked boxes; these are realised in a bespoke curtain wall system with cast aluminium panelling as feature screens in front of the glazing providing privacy.
The solid facades are brick-faced precast with internal insulation and air and vapour barrier. A slender Roman brick has been selected.
