Restoration and re-roofing of the spectacular Cast Courts at the V&A.
The Grade I-listed Cast Courts are amongst the most spectacular gallery spaces in London. As part of our ongoing work with the V&A, we have provided facade engineering services for the design of a new glazed roof envelope to replace the existing patent glazing system which sits on the 20-metre-span curved roof trusses.
Our work has included carrying out an energy performance assessment using a 3D model of the roof, as well as dew point analysis of the new glazing. A new insulated glass patent glazed system was specified, laminated for safety with solar control coating. We also worked on the restoration of the main exhibition spaces.
