Pedestrian bridge of steel and glass linking four buildings on the Bonifacio greenbelt in Manila.

The new Globe Live footbridge forms a link between four existing buildings, including the telecoms giant’s 150m-long flagship store. Eckersley O’Callaghan provided structural engineering services for this steel and glass structure.

Accessible to the public 24 hours a day, the 36m-long bridge transforms into a stage for live music, screenings and events.

We designed the substructure foundations and steel and glass details for the bridge, including the floor and balustrades. We also designed framing to support sliding screens for concert use.

The bridge was engineered to withstand storms and seismic loads in accordance with local codes in the Philippines.
