Our Growing Impact in Australia
26 September 2025
From our early involvement in the Atlassian Central project in 2019, Eckersley O’Callaghan’s connection to Australia has been one of growth, collaboration, and innovation.

While the pandemic briefly delayed the establishment of a permanent presence, our Sydney office officially opened its doors in 2021 under the leadership of Tom Donald, later joined by Marley Meemeduma in 2022, who brought expanded expertise. Since then, our team has grown to seven and continues to build a strong reputation for engineering across Australia.

Today, our portfolio spans 116 completed and current projects across Australia. From private residential new builds, to cultural, community, commercial, heritage, and industrial, our work embraces a wide variety of building typologies and materials. We’re proud to apply our expertise to projects ranging from mass timber and steel to advanced materials like glass and carbon fibre, always striving to push technical boundaries.
Shortly after opening, our Sydney team won the Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway competition and secured facade commissions in Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. With more than 50 projects currently in development, and our early work now under construction or newly completed, we are building on this early momentum with confidence.

Each of our global offices operates through a local and global approach, combining on-the-ground project delivery with the expertise of our global network in digital design, sustainability, and materials innovation. This model enables our Australia-based projects to benefit from global insights while remaining deeply connected to local contexts, codes, and collaborators. Our Sydney team is driving a metric-based approach to sustainability and performance, aligning our work with evolving building codes and Australia’s growing sustainability targets.
