Duncan worked as an automotive product designer, fabricator and toolmaker prior to completing his MSc in Civil Engineering at UCL in 2007. He joined Eckersley O’Callaghan’s Structures team in 2014 and is responsible for managing a variety of technically challenging design projects, leading teams to ensure their successful delivery. He has a flair for conceptual design and structural creativity, and his award-winning sketching skills give him a unique ability to communicate his ideas to the team.

Duncan has recently focused on software development in sustainability for building structures and their materials. He has led our sustainability focused research and development which has resulted in several project and wider industry successes resulting in Revit software plugin tool ‘EOC ECO2’ which has been shared freely with over 150 organisations worldwide to date. The software was shortlisted for three separate awards in 2022 and won the Construction News Workforce awards ‘Net Zero Team of the Year’. More recently published in ‘Coding Architecture’ 2024 and delivered the first version of our in house rapid prototyping software the ‘Smart Massing Tool’ (SMT).

Some of Duncan’s successfully delivered projects include Apple Flagship stores, El Gouna CCC, The Ashworth Centre Lincolns Inn, The Black & White Building and New Temple Complex.
