Winning design team announced for the Spedali Civili di Brescia

Earlier this month, Alessandro Baldini, Director of our Milan office, attended the ceremony on behalf of Eckersley O’Callaghan where the winning design team was announced for the new Main Hospital and Children’s Hospital in Brescia.
Designed by Park Associati and CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati, Eckersley O’Callaghan is providing facade engineering expertise to help realise this healthcare complex. We supported the design team from the earliest concept stages, combining environmental design studies with facade design and massing strategies to shape building envelopes that maximise comfort, reduce energy demand and encourage external views. This integrated approach underpins an innovative proposal that reimagines healthcare as part of a larger ecological, social and academic network. The Spedali Civili di Brescia will become a circular framework connecting clinical care, research, biodiversity, public life and future adaptability within one integrated environment.
