Principal
Phil became a Principal of Eckersley O’Callaghan & Partners, LLC, New York in 2011. During his 20 years of professional practice, Phil also worked at Dewhurst Macfarlane & Partners alongside James O’Callaghan in both London & New York, as well as at other facade engineering firms in New York.
His continuing commitment to the architectural community through creative and considered structural engineering solutions has led to a broad experience in innovative systems such as structural glass, tensile structures, membranes, inflatables and long-span roofs, as well as more typical building frames and facades utilizing traditional materials.
Phil employs a first principles approaches, which has provided a specialist understanding of high end analytical applications, including staged erection analysis, non-linear dynamic seismic and blast engineering, stadium and bridge design, supplemented with form-finding and 3D modelling. Practical implementation of these solutions has resulted in work on both the Design and Contracting sides of the industry.
