Performance-Based Facade Design 2025

19 September 2025

Last week, Damian Rogan, Mitsu Edwards, Lisa Rammig, and Alessandro Baldini travelled from Eckersley O’Callaghan’s offices in the UK, France, USA, and Italy to join industry peers in Venice for the Performance-Based Facade Design (PBFD) 2025 Conference.

Performance-Based

Bringing together perspectives from across four countries, they hosted the panel session “Facade Circularity in Practice: Strategies for Adaptive-Reuse Across Global Markets”, sharing insights on facade circularity, material reuse, and practical strategies for integrating circular principles into projects worldwide.

Drawing on Eckersley O’Callaghan’s global experience, the discussion highlighted real-world applications, from early-stage material audits to reclaimed components in modern performance-based facades.

The session also covered key enables for circularity, including collaborative tools like GlazingRecovery.org, regional regulatory challenges, and strategies for optimising design for reuse.
