Final designs revealed for Queen Elizabeth II National Memorial

26 May 2026

Forming part of Foster + Partners winning competition team to design the national memorial to Queen Elizabeth II at the heart of St James’ Park, Eckersley O’Callaghan is sharing our glass engineering expertise to realise the memorial bridge’s balustrade, which will be designed with cast-glass pieces inspired by Queen Mary’s Fringe Tiara.

Commemorating Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and her lifelong commitment to public service, the memorial will also feature the Commonwealth Wind Sculpture and Compass, a new standing statue of Queen Elizabeth at Marlborough Gate with a statue of Prince Philip located nearby, as well as gardens dedicated to the United Kingdom.
